Colorado Digital Wedding Guide
January 28, 2010
Denver Wedding Films is very excited to be a part of a new source of information for brides in Colorado.
How would you like to have an online directory that provides short video tours of wedding venues and vendors around the Colorado area?

Enter Colorado’s Digital Wedding Guide. In a few months, this new guide will roll out. It will feature video tours of local venues and interviews with vendors. You’ll be able to see what each wedding venue looks like from the comfort of your home.
A few months ago we decided that we wanted to make a guide that is free for Colorado vendors and venues. We didn’t want to create just another guide though: there are plenty of those already! We finally settled on our expertise and decided to include short videos for every vendor.
Creating the guide will be an ongoing project. Every month we’ll add new venue videos. All of the videos will be searchable by certain keywords as well as listed in different categories such as: chapel, inside venue and the city in which it is located. Next to each video there will be a information that includes a written description of each venue and contact information .
Look for Colorado’s Digital Wedding Guide to launch in a couple of months.
Complete information will be posted soon.
Denver Wedding Films: Not your parents’ wedding video
January 26, 2010

A happy Denver Wedding Films' couple at their wedding ceremony.
A mere 4 months ago, Denver Wedding Films was just a glimmer in my eye. I had decided that I no longer wanted to create the typical wedding video that was 60-90 minutes long and generally uninspipring.
To be honest, we had been doing wedding videography for a couple of years and were bored creating the typical wedding video that you see so often. I had always heard about short-form, cinematic wedding films, but never fully understood their power and creativity so I just blew them off for our typical documentary-style, 90-120 minute wedding video. I always thought that the more of the wedding you put in the final video, the better.
In September, I traveled to Orlando for the Wedding and Event Videographer Association’s annual expo. It was 3 days of seminars and trade shows. I attended several seminars on short-form and cinematic wedding films and was absolutely blown away! The amount of creativity and just great filmmaking that went into these videos were amazing.
A cinematic wedding film is focused on 3 main things:
- Solid Shot Composition
- Creative Editing
- An Entertaining Presentation.
Solid Shot Composition
So many wedding videos today are too busy with flashy shots and fancy equipment. Yes, we include some of that in our wedding films, but the most important thing is having solid, professional shots even if your only equipment is a tripod.
Creative Editing
One of the most important differences in a wedding film is its creative editing. Most wedding videos are edited so they look exactly like the day that they were recorded. Our wedding films go above this and are edited to tell the specific story of our day. We don’t have a cookie cutter style of editing. We spend a great deal of time editing your film so that every shot is perfect and the final video you receive makes you feel like you’re the star of your own movie!
Entertaining Presentation

A Denver Wedding Films' couple's first kiss.
The third key piece to our wedding films is an entertaining presentation. Our editing style is fast paced and fun. It allows us to condense what most videographers would deliver in 2 hours, down to a 20 minute, highly entertaining video that is exciting to watch.
How often would you actually watch a 2 hour video of your wedding? Probably once every 5-10 years. We consistently hear that even relatives of the couple are watching their film every month or so.
So, in October, Trivision Pictures LLC started their new brand: Denver Wedding Films to focus on these 3 principles. We worry more about getting the best looking shots and not the flashiest. We spend more time editing to make sure your story is told in the best way possible and looks and sounds better than you remember.
We promise to provide you a wedding film that is entertaining and fun; something that you’ll actually want to watch over and over. It is these differences that make us the best choice when it comes to capturing your memories. We strive to be the top wedding filmmakers in Colorado, but that means giving each of our couples the best product possible and the individual service that they deserve.
Even if you are on the fence about having a wedding videographer, I strongly suggest that you take sometime to consider our wedding films. Compare our wedding film demos to other wedding videos around town and you’ll see the difference. If you you’d like to setup an appointment to see a complete wedding film, call 303.726.3510 or use the Contact Us page and I’d be happy to show you exactly what a finished wedding film can look like.
Weekend of Bridal Shows Wrap-up
January 18, 2010
What a great weekend! Two great chances to meet some of the newest engaged brides in Denver. We were able to meet some enthusiastic new brides looking to have their memories captured with a wedding film. It was great getting some positive feedback from both brides and vendors about the wedding highlight video that we showed. It is also getting easier to educate soon-to-be brides that we aren’t just videographers, we’re wedding filmmakers. Here are some of the highlights from each day:
Saturday: Three Trees Chapel Open House
Sherri at the Three Trees Chapel, setup a spectacular open house. Many happy couples stopped by to see one of the best views from a chapel in the Denver area. The couples that stopped by our table were very excited about the video we were playing. They just loved the cinematic feel that we have in our wedding films.
As always, florist Lisa Weddel provided gorgeous arrangements of flowers to decorate the tables through the reception area. Our friends at Biscuits and Berries served a variety of mouth watering treats and beverages; they bring a different menu and display to every show! Also setting up a table was Jay Yates of Jay Yates Photography.
Sunday: Colorado Bridal Show at the Hyatt DTC
The Colorado Bridal Show was a great show. The aisles were full of curious new soon-to-be brides and their fiances, mothers and bridesmaids. As the only dedicated vendor in the Wedding Videography category at the event, we were able to talk to nearly all of the brides. Most of them had never seen a wedding film before and were amazed at the kind of work we do with our videos. Others, who had considered not having a wedding videographer because they didn’t like the typical wedding video, were shocked to see what we were able to provide with our wedding films.
I would like to give a special thanks to Darren Skanson of Colorado Wedding Music for providing us with some new music to use in our videos and Ron Severns at Sweetness & Co for providing us with an audio cable that we forgot bring to the show.
I also had the privilege of meeting Kim and Will of Element One Photography and I look forward to working with them in the future.
