Meet the Filmmakers

Seeing the need for wedding films that are more than just your standard cliché wedding video with a poor picture and cheesy effects. We wanted a fresh, fun, modern style of video that focuses on telling the story of your day. Our cinematic wedding films are a new take on wedding videography. We create a stylized movie of your wedding that is short enough to be entertaining, yet long enough to include the important memories of your day.

Our role as story tellers is why we consider ourselves filmmakers and not videographers. Videographers simply capture the events on video, filmmakers look for the story that is happening and use the video to help tell the story.

Tye Olmsted and Will Kelley are the owners and chief filmmakers of Denver Wedding Films™. They began filming short films and weddings when they met at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. As a team, they have been creating quality wedding videos for more than three years.

One of my favorite sayings is: “If its worth doing, its worth doing right.” I have a similar philosophy when it comes to weddings, “If its worth remembering, its worth remembering right.” Of every type of movie or video that is ever made: your own wedding is worth remembering. It should have more meaning, and more emotion to you than any other movie created.

For me, the best part is helping people to remember one of the best days of their lives. I’ve heard from so many brides that they day goes by so fast that they feel like they’ve missed it. Its a great feeling knowing that I’m allowing them to relive their memories anytime they choose.

I enjoy the challenge of capturing live events. Its the pinnacle of video production and a test of your skills. There are no retakes, no do-overs. Every event is different and a new learning experience. It keeps me excited and motivated to create the best memory for people possible.  I’ve always been a dork when it comes to video, I enjoy checking out the newest tools online and keeping up to date with the newest technology. Whenever I get the chance, I’m playing with a camera, lights or sound to try and perfect my art.
