September is a beautiful month in Colorado and a great time for a mountain wedding. Shaina and Zach were married at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail. The large A-Frame style, timber and stone cabin is a grand setting for a wedding. After an intimate ceremony with Shaina and Zach sharing their own hand-written vows, we spent some time shooting a great creative session with Chris Schneider down by the Eagle River.

John Murray of My Jammin DJ’s got the reception rockin’ with an amazing display of sound and lights. The Donovan Pavilion is an amazing setting for a wedding and we are very grateful to have captured such an amazing couple’s wedding there. Congratulations Shaina and Zach!

They say, you’re never too old to stop learning. That’s certainly the case, and is no exception for event filmmakers. Last week we gathered with filmmakers from all over the world at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina for our industries annual conference, In[Focus]. The event is four days of networking workshops, seminars and trade shows. This was our first year at the event, and it has inspired us, and educated us to take our work to the next level and continue creating the best wedding films possible.

We had a great time at In[Focus] 2012 and made some great friends and collaborated with event filmmakers around the country. We’re looking forward to going to the event again next year and increasing our potential even more.

Jessica and Daniel’s wedding was an amazing event. The decorations were among the most stunning we’ve seen and the head table at the reception was incredible. We were lucky enough to have a young, fun couple that allowed us to put together a great creative session at the Hyatt Regency at the DTC. One of biggest highlights of this wedding was the touching toast given by the maid of honor.

Diana and Chad’s lavish summer wedding ceremony took place at St. Ignatius Loyola with the beautiful reception setting high in the Pinnacle Club of the Grand Hyatt in Downtown Denver. Diana’s jewelry was stunning, and had more sparkles than we could imagine.  After the ceremony, the wedding party hopped on a party bus and was whisked across the street to City Park, where Amy Michelle Photography began a gorgeous photo session with the group.

The Grand Hyatt has views fit enough for a princess and her prince and when combined with the wonderfully decorated ballroom, this truly was a magical wedding! We are blessed to have been invited to capture such an amazing event and this is one wedding that will be hard to top when it comes to the eye candy! Allison + Brian

Allison and Brian were married at Catamount Ranch in Steamboat Springs. This was a destination wedding for them at a beautiful location. The rain held off just long enough to get the ceremony in and then let up for their reception in a tent next to the lake.

Join Denver Wedding Films tomorrow June 26th at the MaxFund 15th Annual Lucky Mutt Strut. The 2 mile walk kicks off at 9am at Washington Park and raises money for homeless animals. This is a great event that will really help some great animals. We’ve been asked to film the event and create a short video for MaxFund to use on their website and to help promote future Lucky Mutt Struts.  If you’re free tomorrow, come down and help support a great cause.

We had the pleasure of traveling to Scottsbluff Nebraska to shoot Holly and Jared’s wedding.  Even though Scottsbluff is not a big city, Holly and Jared still managed to have over 300 guests at their wedding!

We were able to surprise Holly and Jared by creating a Same Day Edit to show at their reception. This was actually the first Same Day Edit that we put together at an actual wedding. The video above is the actual video that was shown at the wedding. Holly and Jared loved it, and got many great compliments from their guests.  We’ll be posting the video of Holly and Jared’s reaction soon.

Holly’s Aunt, Judy, was the photographer and took some amazing pictures at her studio that are already posted on her Facebook page while Gary of DJ Music System got the crowd fired up for dancing and kept the energy going late into the night.

Every outdoor wedding has the possibility of being influenced or interrupted by the weather. With the wet May that we’d had so far, it was a good sign that the day was so sunny. When we arrived at Stonebrook Manor, Allie paid us a great compliment, saying that she had the best videographers in Denver, but was worried about the wind and if their vows would be heard. While the wind played havoc with Allie’s veil (the wind took off with it at least once), the ceremony was protected for the most part and I’d tell you how beautiful it turned out, but I’ll just let you see for yourself.

The coordination of the wedding by the staff at the Stonebrook Manor was excellent, very rarely do we see weddings that are executed so closely to their timeline. I think the most amazing part of the wedding was how laid back Allie and Nick were; they were having a great time and were just enjoying the moments with each other.

The sweetest moments of Allie and Nick’s wedding had to be Allie’s grandma putting Allie’s pearl necklace on her and Allie reading the touching letter written by Nick just before the ceremony started.
